Getting Started with Individual and Family Coverage

What is Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Insurance?

The Affordable Care Act – more commonly known as Obamacare – has enacted a variety of new individual & family health insurance options. Understanding these changes will help you find the plan that’s right for your family.

There are four main levels of coverage when it comes to health insurance plans: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Bronze plans are the cheapest policies, but they also mean high out of pocket costs for things like deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. Platinum policies cost the most, but they offer the most coverage. Bronze pays for an average of 60% of health care expenses, with consumers picking up the rest. Silver pays 70%, gold 80%, and platinum 90%. But keep in mind that different companies offer differing premiums for the same coverage. ACA plans are typically state-based so they do not travel very well and may not include all of the doctors or hospitals that you would like so be sure and do your research prior to choosing a plan.

Benefits of an ACA or Obamacare Plan:
  • Most complete coverage available
  • Covers Preventative, Rx, Mental health, hospital and much more
  • NO Pre-Existing Condition limitations
  • You may qualify for a federal subsidy to help lower your premium
  • Want the security of unlimited lifetime maximums
ACA Plans are a great solution if:
  • You need a permanent solution
  • You have health issues and want to make sure they are covered
  • You earn a wage that qualifies you for a federal subsidy

What is Short Term Health Insurance?

Our Short-Term Health Insurance Plans offer you highly flexible insurance coverage for times when you find yourself caught in-between insurance plans. Short-Term Health insurance can provide you up to $2 million of coverage, you can start your plan in as quickly as 24 hours and they can last up to 12 months or longer depending on your individual state. Short-Term Health insurance offers a solution to your long-term health care needs. As such, these policies are significantly more affordable than an Obamacare plan, and can be purchased with a range of coverage terms, deductibles and payment options based on your unique life situation.

Benefits of Short-Term Health Insurance vs. Obamacare:
  • About 1/2 the cost of an ACA plan and often even less!
  • Keep your doctors and NO GATEKEEPERS! A Texas short term health insurance plan uses a rich nationwide PPO network, not an HMO.
  • Your rates are locked in until the end of the year.
  • You’re not subsidizing the rest of the healthcare system – only pay for what you need!
  • Approximately 25% discount if you choose to pay using the Single Pay option when you purchase!
Short Term Health Plans are a great solution if:
  • You’ve lost coverage due to a recent career or life change;
  • You missed the open enrollment period and need coverage now;
  • You’re a student or graduate no longer covered under your parents’ insurance;
  • You’re a seasonal worker;
  • You’ve retired but have to wait for Medicare eligibility;
  • You’re looking for an affordable health insurance solution.
